Because they did not receive a love of the truth, God sent them a strong delusion that they might believe a lie.

When Sodomites Marry                                 Index

The Supreme Court of Hawaii is deciding whether to legalize homosexual marriages. If it does give gay partners the sanction of "holy matrimony," that decision will have sweeping consequences for the rest of the country. And those of us who oppose it will be called hate-mongering homophobes. It's hard, you know, being accused of homophobia for affirming what our faith teaches--that homosexuality is a sin and a perversion.

But let's look closer at this charge of homophobia since that is the charge leveled at anyone who condemns sodomy. The term homophobia suggests that we are afraid of homosexuals. But why are we afraid?  Is it because some cross-dresser might strike us with his purse?  No.  Is it the fear that some impassioned gay guy will hurl us to the ground and ravish us?  No, it is not that either. Is it the more plausible fear that some pedophile priest, teacher, or scoutmaster might seduce our sons. No, not even that. Our fear of  homo-sexuals (according to our accusers) is based on our own guilty secret. According to them we are all basically bisexual. The charge of homophobia suggests that we all harbor forbidden lusts for our own sex. Because these desires are hateful to us, we reject them with violence and loathing. Rather than face our secret guilt, we turn our fear and hatred on the hapless gay community. They, the despised gay community, are the only ones true to themselves; for they openly embrace the natural, wholesome feelings we all have, but most of us deny because of represive religious scruples.

Well, I'm sorry, my sodomite friend.  It just ain't so. As God is my witness, I never once felt the impulse to harm a homosexual.  I love you as I love my other neighbors.  I don't hate you, and I'm not afraid of you.  I pity your tragic blindness and bondage.

But please don't ask me to approve as natural and wholesome what I know to be unnatural and destructive. Please accept the fact that many of us reject entirely your perversion, but don't hate, reject , or fear you. Especially don't ask us to elevate your sordid encounters to the level of real marriage.
